Preoperative Checkup


Preoperative Examinations to carry out in your own country before travelling to Paris. 

Consultation with a Cardiologist:

  • ECG (Electrocardiogram)

Blood tests: *

  • NFS – TP – TCK – Rhesus Group
  • Glycemia
  • Iron serum
  • Triglycerides
  • Cholesterol HDL LDL
  • SGOT
  • SGPT
  • yGT
  • TSH

Consultation with a Pulmonologist:

  • Pulmonary X-Ray
  • Lung function study (functional respiratory investigation) if possible

Consultation with a Gastro-Enterologist:

  • Endoscopy

The above investigations are mandatory in order to confirm the bariatric surgery indication as well as its feasibility.

Blood tests are required for research of a metabolic abnormality: beginner diabetes, increased levels of cholesterol or triglycerides and uric acid, abnormal function of the thyroid gland which, in case of insufficient working, causes overweight and match by applying the hormone TSH. Similarly the determination of cortisol verifies the absence of anomaly of the adrenal gland.

  • Some additional tests may be required by the Surgeon or the Anesthetist in Paris who you necessarily will see at least 2 days before surgery, as required by the French law.
