It is a particular food mode intended to decrease the size of the liver before bariatric surgery.
The principle is to exclude sugars and fats as much as possible.
Breakfast :
➢ Coffee or tea without sugar
➢ ¼ of baguette (50g) or 4 crackers / triscottes OR 4 "small Swedish toast" OR ¾ slices of wasa or Cracottes OR 50 g of muesli OR 60 g of oat flakes OR 1 unleavened bread.
➢ 1 plain yogurt or 1 white cheese 0%
Lunch / dinner :
➢ Raw vegetables and / or cooked vegetables or soup: unlimited
➢ 100 g of meat OR 100 g of fatty fish (tuna, salmon, sardines, mackerel, herring, trout) OR 120 to 200 g of lean fish (hake, cod, whiting) OR 2 slices of smoked salmon or trout OR 200 g shelled shellfish OR 2 eggs (omelette, boiled or hard-boiled…) OR 2 slices of ham.
➢ 2 tablespoons, i.e. 50g of cooked starchy foods OR 1 slice of wholemeal bread / cereals
➢ 1 dairy product: plain yogurt OR 0% white cheese OR 0% cheese OR a glass of skimmed milk (or ½ skimmed).
➢ 1 fruit or 1 compote without added sugar
➢ 1 tablespoon (15g) of olive oil for the whole meal
Possibility to have a snack at 4 p.m. type 1 fruit or 1 dairy (plain yogurt or 0% white cheese)
EQUIVALENCES / ADVICE
50 g cooked starchy foods, for example:
= 1 potato (about the size of an egg)
= 2 tablespoons of pasta or semolina (couscous, tabbouleh) or dried beans, chickpeas ...
= 2.5 tablespoons rice or lentils
= 1.5 tablespoons of mash
Cooked meat, fish and eggs WITHOUT FAT!
Prefer cooking in water, steam, in the oven, in foil (wrapped in aluminum foil and placed in the oven or in the microwave), in a double boiler, in the stew, in the grill or even the pan (thick bottom and non-stick coating).
